Solar Experience

I recently had the opportunity to travel to a very remote village in Nicaragua to document a great project sponsored by Viridian Energy.  After hours in the car, 4 wheeling over some of the toughest roads I have ever been on, we hiked for an hour into the village of Potrero Platanal.  Due to their remote location, the village of subsistence farm families has never had access to electricity. Partnering with GRID Alternatives, a nonprofit organization that provides off-grid solar power to rural communities in Nicaragua, the volunteers from Viridian installed solar panels and light in 40 village home.  It was a great experience and a pleasure to work with some wonderful people.
